  1. I’ve had the same sofa for well over 20 years. I have replaced the foam in the cushions, and cats scratched the arms somewhere along the way, but otherwise, it is as sturdy as the day we bought it. The brand is Flexsteel.

  2. I bought a barely used Natuzzi leather couch from a woman who needed to empty her parents’ apartment really quickly so she was selling everything at a dirt-cheap price. I had it looked over by a professional and they told me that it was a genuine Natuzzi. That loveseat is worth over 2500$ brand new. Genuine leather and everything. I’ve had it for 5 years and it’s sagging, the supports have given way, I can feel the wood centre beam when I sit down, and all the cushions are sewn in so it’s very hard to clean. I’m not a heavy woman so I don’t think it’s my weight on the loveseat that wore it down. Expensive doesn’t always mean quality. Since I got it for such a low price (so it’s not like I have any monetary incentive to keep the original shape and style of the couch), and I’ve moved into a tiny apartment, I’m thinking of creating a loft-bed, taking the bottom part of my loveseat off, repairing the damages and making it into a floor-couch that folds out into an extra bed for guests underneath my loft. It’s too tall as is, even of I take off the feet, so I think this will be a good way of fixing and repurposing something that I can keep for a long time instead of buying something new!
