  1. Hi! Do you stand by these choices today? I’m looking for a couch and with the Holiday Weekend upon us I think it’s a good time to act. We considered the most popular sectional at Macy’s- I think it’s the Radley (?) because of comfort and it’s washable but it’s a bit too plain and traditional for my taste. Any advice? Looking for a West Elm, Restoration ‘fatty’ (deep cushions, simple style) type. Appreciate any suggestions you might have!!

  2. I’m looking for a smaller couch of 91″. I’m moving into a apartment & DON’T want a love seat.
It would of been nice if you could mention the different lengths.

  3. A well made sofa consists of :
A ) an all hard wood frame such as ash and should be double dowed , screwed , glued and blocked plus have an 8 way hand knotted hour glass coiled suspension with an 8 “ flexible give plus a wrapped heavy steel front panel edge which flexes with the hour glass coils
B ) the frame should be upholstered twice beginning with generous padding then upholstered in fine muslin. The muslin will protect the fabric backing thus allowing it to give without damage over the frame . There should be no hard edges . If the sides sound like a tom tom drum , steer clear of buying it . The cushions should be rapped as well over dense foam . If down is used , it should be channeled over foam in order to help keep the cushions properly shaped .
C ) the upholstery fabric should pattern matched throughout the frame’s back , sides , inside and outside arms etc . . Beware of fabrics with glued backing as the glue is there so the fabric won’t fall apart !
You’ll pay a lot extra for the sofa , but it will reward you with a luxurious feel for years and when the time comes it will be well worth reupholstering . A well made sofa is cheaper to own in the long run as it will maintain its appearance for many years as it coddles the owner in luxurious comfort . Beware of sofas that look as though they’ve been stamped out of a cookie cutter machine . Initially , you’ll pay less , but they won’t last unless they’re meant just for display .

  4. Wow, I just found you!
I absolutely love your style, it’s directed into the point and you don’t go on and on. Thank you!
